Developments planned for 2018
In 2015 we recorded the birth of 44 cubs in our study area which includes Samburu, Laikipia, and Isiolo counties. In July two cubs were poisoned inside Buffalo Springs National Reserve – the first documented case of poisoning in our study area. It was confirmed that the cubs died from poisoning, following an incident whereby a herdsman laced the carcass of a camel killed by lions with a toxic pesticide. The camel which was killed was brought into the park to illegally graze.
