Mark’s family has been in Kenya for six generations and he follows in the footsteps of his grandfather and father as a guide. He grew up in the UK countryside outside Cambridge and left the UK thirteen years ago, working in Sudan, Nigeria, Tanzania and Lebanon as a guide, photographer, ornithologist and teacher before settling in Kenya  over a decade ago. He studied at Eton College in the UK before reading ecology and conservation biology at Durham University and is now a qualified member of the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association as well as a published scientific author.

Mark guides safaris all over Africa and has previously run some of Africa’s top camps and lodges. He is a passionate and award-winning photographer whose images have been published in magazines and newspapers all over the world. He is always delighted to share his tips and skills with guests.

Mark is heavily involved in conservation and charitable work, and when not guiding is based in Nairobi consulting to charitable foundations working to protect wildlife in Kenya and partnering with the people who live on the periphery of parks and reserves.
